WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
New Hope is a historical, small town Methodist church that is more of a family than a place to visit. It’s a place where you know your pastor (Pastor Payton) on a first name basis, and you meet your new best friend every time you sit down in a pew or jump into a Bible study. Missed breakfast or looking for a coffee? Join us in our brand-new Fellowship Hall area to enjoy donuts and refreshments, have a chat, or meet somebody new. Our pastor, our leadership team, and our volunteers would love to answer any questions you may have— just ask!
SOME FAQ’S
Typically, New Hope Methodist Church services run slightly over an hour in length. We provide programming via bulletins each week.
Sunday mornings are blended and multigenerational. We incorporate traditional hymns and Wesleyan traditions with some contemporary worship mixed in on occasion. The overall feel on Sunday morning is casual and relaxed; a place where you’re always welcome!
Dress at New Hope Methodist is casual – come as you are!
Pastor Payton preaches a biblical, gospel-centered message each week that brings forth the words of scripture, provides practical application to our lives, and teaches a contextual and covenantal sermon each week.
Our music selection each week’s blends a mixture of traditional, Wesleyan hymns, gospels, and worship music that spans the decades of our tradition, all with just a little country flair. Song lyrics are on television screens for you to sing along and engage in worship. New Hope’s services are led by a full band including a fiddle and harmonica on most weeks.
New Hope is a Global Methodist Church following and believing in the Wesleyan tradition. We offer Holy Communion on the first week of each month as well as on High-Holy Days. During this time everyone is invited to come forward to receive the body (bread) and blood (grape juice) of Christ in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice for us all. New Hope practices an open table, and all are welcomed to partake in the Lord’s Supper.
We also celebrate the sacrament of baptism for infants and adults alike. At this time, we have the options of sprinkling or pouring for methods of baptism, we do not currently have a submersion option available at this time. If you would like to know more about baptism or you would like to schedule your baptism at New Hope, Click Here.
In addition to these sacraments, we incorporate liturgies including but not limited to The Apostle’s Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, Gloria Patri, Doxology, and Professions of Faith.
What about my kids?
At New Hope, we are invested in our future. Jesus told them to let the little children come to him, and we embrace the teachings of Christ. (Matthew 19:14)
New Hope loves kids. We incorporate our children into our service as greeters, ushers, and working the media during church, and each week we incorporate them into the service as well with our Children’s Moment. Each week, Pastor Payton spends time with the children during service for a brief teaching and (typically) some candy and some fun. Next, they go back with Ms. Nikki and our New Hope Children’s Volunteers for a Sunday School moment during the sermon before returning to you before the service is over.
Our biggest priority is always your children’s safety. Because of that, we make sure that all of our volunteers are screened with a background check and complete a Safe Sanctuary Training.
Elementary-aged kids begin worship with their families* and are dismissed during the service to learn about God’s word at their own speed after the Children’s Moment. They return for the closing of worship.
*If you prefer, your child is also welcome to remain with you in worship. If you need some quiet space with your child during worship, feel free to use the Coffee Bar area. (Exit the sanctuary and turn right.)

Young Adults (6th grade and older) worship with the adults. We feel it’s important for our older students to grow to understand how worship “works” and how they fit into the greater church community. Tribe412, our student ministry program, offers Jr. high and high schoolers time to meet together and grow in their faith each Sunday afternoons from 3-4:30pm.
