Children’s Ministry
“Whoever receives one child like this in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me does not receive Me, by Him who sent Me.” – Mark 9:37
Ever since Jesus said these words and called the children to Him, children have always held a special place in Christian ministry. At New Hope Methodist Church we take special care in loving our children and raising them knowing the love and faithfulness of God. That begins with them being part of the church. At New Hope, we believe in growing our children up within the experience of a church service. We want them to learn to sing and worship the Lord through hymns and praise music, we want them to learn the creeds remind us what we hold true, and we want them to learn to give through the offering of our blessings back to the church. These things seem small in the grand scheme of things and we know that not every child is going to sit still through church, but we have a congregation that loves children, cherishes their innocence and joy, and are here to help our families through the first part of service on Sunday mornings.
Each week we set aside time in our service where Pastor Payton talks directly to the student and interacts with them during “Children’s Church” before they go with our Children’s Ministry Team for a specific lesson and activity during service. We have a nursery worker for the younger children and a teacher for our children who are ages 1st-5th grade. Each week, our team comes together to create a curriculum that engages the kids in a way that teaches and entertains, making church an enjoyable and educational experience for all of our kids at New Hope Methodist Church. Children are back in service before the Benediction and close of service, or before Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
All of our teachers receive a background check and are Safe Sanctuary certified to ensure the protection of your children and our teachers. This is the next generation of Christians and we want to treat them with the love and care that they deserve!
Special Ministries:
Vacation Bible School
Each Summer, New Hope offers Vacation Bible School for one week. This is time where we invest in our kids with a Scripture-inspired theme, Bible study, games, activities, and an entire experience to give your kid a fun time and get them excited about their relationship with God!
Special Children’s Ministries
At New Hope, we also want to set aside specific times and activities for our kids, so we have special engagements throughout the year like Easter Egg Hunts, Movie Nights, and other fun events to come together with our families and enjoy time for fellowship together.
